About Me

Tech leader, writer, and sometimes filmmaker living in North West London with my schnauzer, Molly.

Hi, I'm Dan Jacobs β€” a tech leader, writer, and sometimes filmmaker living in North West London with my schnauzer, Molly.

I'm currently Director of Engineering at CDP, a global non-profit working to address climate change through environmental transparency and action. I lead the engineering team behind CDP's digital infrastructure, supporting its mission to drive global disclosure and sustainability.

Beyond my professional role, I'm involved in a range of creative, intellectual, and community-driven projects:

πŸŽ₯

I co-founded Broigus Productions, where we create short films exploring Jewish identity, conflict, and storytelling.

✍️

I'm one of the founding editors of JewThink, an online magazine for new Jewish thought, commentary, and cultural exploration.

πŸ—žοΈ

I once ran the satire site Daily Jews, which still gets occasional updates when inspiration (or indignation) strikes.

🌱

I serve as a trustee of the Jewish Vegan Society, promoting ethical, plant-based living through a Jewish lens.

✊

I was also a founder of Socialists Against Antisemitism, a grassroots response to rising antisemitism on the political left, especially during the Corbyn era.

I also have a longstanding academic interest in Ancient Near Eastern religions, with a focus on the early development of Jewish theology and myth. Some of my research and reflections can be found at The Rabbis.
